Both platform lifts/elevators and stair lifts should be maintained in accordance with Vestner recommendations to ensure the Warranty provisions are not compromised and to keep the lift in excellent working condition. Maintaining the lift will also prolong the life of the product.
Platform lifts/elevators
General
Lifts require minimal maintenance by the owner (documented in the Owners Manual)
- Where Vestner undertakes a scheduled service of a lift, this involves a full and thorough inspection of the structural and operational functions of the lift and its interface with the surrounding environment
- Repairs should only be undertaken by suitability trained technicians who are knowledgeable of the product and compliance requirements and to ensure that appropriate replacement parts are used where required
- In the unlikely event that your lift needs to be repaired, Vestner can arrange for a trained technician to call and repair your lift and we offer an emergency contact service where required
Residential
Lifts in single household dwellings should be serviced every twelve (12) months
(NB: such lifts do not require an annual Safety Inspection Certificate)
Commercial
Lifts in commercial settings must be serviced in accordance with the Building Compliance Schedule. This is usually at six (6) monthly intervals (or more frequently where governing bodies may require this e.g. Ministry of Education)
- Lifts must also be inspected and signed off annually (Safety Inspection Certificate issued) by an IQP - Independently Qualified Person)
- Service and repair work undertaken along with the IQP inspection report must be recorded in the Log Book supplied by Vestner. This information is required for the Building’s Warrant of Fitness (BWoF)
Stair lifts - residential
General
Stair lifts require minimal maintenance by the owner (documented in the User Manual)
- Programmed maintenance of stair lifts involves a full and thorough inspection of the structural and operational functions of the stair lift and its interface with the surrounding environment
