Buying a lift for your home or property?
Before you sign on the dotted line, here are six things to consider:
How many times will I use my lift? It’s important you have the right lift for your level of usage if you want it to last/not breakdown. It’s easy to underestimate how much work your lift will do once installed, so make sure you err on the side of more than less (remember when the grand kids discover it, it will do double time).
Am I located near the ocean? Particularly for outside lifts or platforms, sea air is very corrosive so ensuring the lift you’ve chosen is appropriate for this environment is essential if you want it to last your lifetime. We recommend putting lifts indoors where possible.
Do I know what the ongoing maintenance costs will be? Not all lifts are created equal and when you’re reliant on one, you need it to work every time you use it, without fail. Ensuring you install a lift that is appropriate for the workload you’ll give it and ensuring you have a provider who will help you with regular preventative maintenance ongoing is essential. Vestner offers the first year of maintenance free and our programmed maintenance plans are competitive.
What sort of warranty and back up do I have? Can I easily get spares? Your provider needs to be a company that’s been in the business a long time and isn’t going anywhere. Vestner offers a one year warranty on all lifts plus ongoing servicing and support beyond the first year (via a regular maintenance programme) for the life of your lift. We also refurbish lifts and replace them … and we have experience with, and access to, spare parts for all lift brands (not just Vestner) – so we have you covered.
What happens in an emergency? Vestner can provide 24/7 emergency callout in the event that you (or someone else) gets trapped in your lift for any reason. Our lifts also come with battery backup so in the event of a power cut you will be able to get out.
How long will it take to get your lift? And how easy is it to install? For brands supplied from Europe the wait time for lifts can be around 25 weeks. However, Vestner can reduce this to around 12 weeks via air freighting if you’re in a hurry.
The majority of our Vestner lifts are supplied as a kitset, speeding up installation considerably – as little as a day for a low-rise lift, up to a week for larger home lifts.
With 30 staff and over 250 years of experience purely in lifts Vestner will help you get into the right lift for your particular budget and situation as quickly as possible.
